Basic Information

Basic Information

Small trees 1" - 3" are usually moved with bobcat mounted machines. 24-48" In places that can't be reached by machine we are able to hand ball and move by hand.

Large trees between 4" -9" are moved by truck-mounted spades 65-90" .With all the machines a receiving hole is dug first, the plug of dirt is stored in a pod, or dumped on side according to the customer's need. The machine then digs the tree and transports the tree to the receiving hole.

Trees moved in summer or full leaf need extreme care, a larger machine, and a tarp to cover them in transport.

Step 1

Step 1

The tree's location is discussed and spotted, then the ground is marked or staked to insure accurate placement. The initial "hole" is spaded out and placed in a "pod", a cone-like frame the shap of the spade used. This soil is placed in the hole where the tree was removed when completed.

Step 2

Step 2

The subject tree is removed carefully with the appropriate sized spade. Smaller trees will be dug with a Bobcat mounted spade, while larger caliper trees will be dug with a truck mounted spade,

There are 4 wings to the spade and they are inserted 1 at a time to penetrate the ground. When they are fully buried, it forms a complete closed cone and now is ready to be lifted

Step 3

Step 3

The tree remains in the spade and has begun to be angled forward for the trip to the subject property.

Step 4

Step 4

We inspect the "dig" and tree to anticipate any possible problems. In warm weather, the tree may be wrapped and covered with a tarp to m inimize wind burn and drying turing transportation.

Step 5

Step 5

Once the tree is folded in it's fully forward position, it is secured for the trip. Our technicians have the right training and experience to insure all goes well and to minimize problems.

Step 6

Step 6

Once the trip is made to the subject property, the rig is backed up and the tree is lowered into the hole. It is positioned as strrait as possible and inspected for proper placement. Depending on the job requirements, we can tie and stake the tree with guy wires to prevent unexpected winds from shifting or toppling the tree.
